TPC Stonebrae Honored by Audubon International and GCSAA as Environmental Leader

December 19, 2014

TPC Stonebrae Country Club cherishes all of our community’s luxuries, especially our natural gifts. Our high standards of stewardship for our gorgeous environment were recognized by Audubon International and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

As part of its 2014 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards (ELGA), the GCSAA awarded Stonebrae as its ELGA merit winner for private facility. David Davies, the TPC Stonebrae Certified Golf Course Superintendent, personally received this prestigious recognition. Its selection was based on the survey of an independent panel of judges representing national environmental groups, turfgrass experts, university researchers and valued members of the golf industry.

We are proud to be an ELGA recipient in each of our 7 years of operation. In addition to the 2014 Merit recognition, we were also Merit winners in 2008,09,10,11 and 2013. We achieved Chapter Recognition in 2012, earning us ELGA awards in each of the 7 years of operation

TPC Stonebrae Country Club also enjoys certification from the one of the world’s top environmental groups, Audubon International. Our grounds, including 1,200 acres of dedicated open space and wildlife preserves, are a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. We received this certification in 2010 and were re-certified in 2012. The Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf allows golf courses to better protect the environment and preserve the natural heritage of golf.

The habitat preserves of Stonebrae community living are treasures that we’re honored to care for. The recognition from institutions like Audubon International and the GCSAA does us proud, because we take it as proof that we’re doing our duty.
