Playing for a Good Cause: 65,000 Meals and Counting!

December 1, 2011

The true meaning of Thanksgiving makes this the perfect time of year to give back to the community. That’s why last week we hosted the Annual Turkey Shootout at TPC Stonebrae!

Once again, this yearly event was a huge success! Beginning Wednesday, November 23, players gathered on the course for a 10am shotgun and the opportunity to raise funds for Second Harvest Food Bank.

The event itself was organized and coordinated by TPC Stonebrae Club members Joe and Allison Hawayek and Michelle Berg of Second Harvest Food Bank.

Once the shootout was complete, members gathered at the Club to celebrate the event – awarding this year’s winners with classy and seasonal orange jackets – as well as this special time of year when friends and family are so appreciated.

Donations are still being received, but to date, over $35,000 has been raised, making it possible to serve at least 65,000 meals to those in need in communities throughout the East Bay.

Thank you to every member of Stonebrae who participated in this highly anticipated event. We’re grateful to each and every one of you for helping to give back to those in need this holiday season.
