Amenities
Areas in and around Stonebrae Country Club are home to a number of species that deserve protection and the Stonebrae development team is dedicated to helping ensure care is taken to preserve their habitat. As part of this commitment:
- One thousand acres, that Stonebrae Country Club has restored for the preservation of wildlife, will be dedicated to the East Bay Regional Park District.
- Two hundred additional acres within the development have been permanently set aside for the protection of endangered wildlife, specifically the threatened Alameda Whipsnake and California Red-Legged Frog.
- Natural waterways throughout the property have been repaired and cleared. Additionally eight acres of new ponds have been installed as habitat for the Red-Legged Frog.
- Hundreds of native oaks and indigenous plants have been planted throughout the preserved habitats.
- Two bridges have been specially constructed to ensure the Alameda Whipsnake can traverse its habitat unimpeded.
- Stonebrae Country Club was the first new neighborhood to meet stringent standards for the treatment of water runoff using filter gardens.
- Naturalists monitor both open space habitats to ensure pristine conditions for the protected species.
